Dr. Altman is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine and specializes in pediatric neuroradiology. His academic career includes being Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Altman is a member of the Radiologic Society of North America, the Dade County Medical Society and the American Medical Society.

Francine Blei, MD

Dr. Blei graduated from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. She specializes in pediatric vascular anomalies, hemangiomas and vascular malformations. At the NYU Medical Center, Dr. Blei is the Medical Coordinator for the Vascular Anomaly Program. She also serves on the Professional Advisory Panel of Hemangioma Newsline; Hemangioma Advisory Board, Roche Laboratories; and Director, Long-term Follow-up Program, NYU Medical Center. Dr. Blei is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the International Society for the Sturdy of Vascular Anomalies.

Ana M. Duarte, MD, FAAP, FAAD
Director, Division of Dermatology, Miami Children's Hospital

Dr. Duarte graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Medicine and was listed on the President’s Honor Roll. While in school, she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She received numerous academic awards, including the Henry King Stanford Merit Scholarship, Thomas Brown McClelland Trust Merit Scholarship Rotary Club of Miami, Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation American Medical Women’s Association, and the Warren W. Quillian Award for excellence in Pediatrics, The Florida Pediatric Society. Dr. Duarte is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Society of Pediatric Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Cuban Inter-American Society of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Greater Miami Pediatric Society and the Cuban Pediatric Society. Dr. Duarte has lectured and published extensively and has been recognized by South Florida magazine as one of the "Top Doctors" in South Florida. She was Gross Anatomy Teaching Assistant, Ph.D. to M.D. program in 1985 and taught freshman medical students in 1987. She also conducted a Pediatric Dermatology Clinic from 1991 to 1995 for dermatology and pediatric residents from the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Duarte’s work is guided by a three-part professional philosophy: 1) to diagnose and treat children with dermatologic disorders/conditions; 2) to promote public awareness on the importance of early skin protection against sun exposure as a preventive measure against serious and lasting skin damage later in life; 3) to place dermatology in the continuum of general medicine through education and training of a new generation of pediatricians.

Rafael Gosalbez, MD
Assistant Professor, Pediatric and Reconstructive Urology

Dr. Gosalbez specializes in Pediatric and Reconstructive Urology and is the Director of the Division of Pediatric Urology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He received his degrees form the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain and Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gosalbez has received numerous awards, including Urology Residents: 1993-94 Annual Teaching Award; Outstanding Attending Award, University of Miami Urology Department; listed among Best Doctors in America: Southeast Region 1996-97; listed among "Best Doctors in America: National Chapter" 1997-98. Dr. Gosalbez strives to achieve personal excellence through patient care, research and education.

Donald E. Greydanus, MD
Professor of Pediatrics and Human Development, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine;  and Director of the Pediatrics Residency Program at the Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies

Dr. Greydanus received his Medical Degree from the College of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and his fellowship in Adolescent Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine. He is the co-author or co-editor of seven books about adolescent medicine, and he has co-edited 15 medical journal issues on adolescent medicine. He has also authored more than 80 medical journal articles and 50 medical chapters in adolescent medicine. Dr. Greydanus is the current Chair of the Annual Planning Meeting Group and member of the Committee on Continuing Medical Education for the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Adele D. Hofmann Award for Distinguished Contributions in Adolescent Health and the 2000 Mayo Clinic Pediatrics Honored Alumnus Award for National Contributions to the field of Pediatrics.

Dr. Maggioni specializes in hospital pediatrics and is the hospitalist for Miami Children's Hospital. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn. His professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. Dr. Maggioni is a graduate of the University of Rome La Sapienza in Italy.

Glenn Morrison, MD, FACS, FAAP

While in medical school at Case-Western Reserve University, Dr. Morrison studied neurology at Queen's Square in London. He spent two years at the National Institutes of Health doing basic and clinical research before completing his neurosurgical residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland. Dr. Morrison has been in practice in Miami since 1974 and has had his office at Miami Children's Hospital (a.k.a. Variety Children's Hospital) since 1984. He has been chief of neurological surgery since 1985 and has served on the Medical Board, the Board of Directors (Vice President), and as the Chief of Surgery as well as most of the committees of the institution. Dr. Morrison was certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1968 and by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 1976. He is a member of many medical organizations, including the Dade County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Florida Neurosurgical Society, the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, the North America Skull Base Society, the American Epilepsy Society, the Neurosurgical Society of America, the Southern Neurosurgical Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Pediatric Neurological Surgeons, and the America College of Surgeons. Dr. Morrison has served as the President of the Southern Neurosurgical Society, the Florida Neurosurgical Society, the Greater Miami Neurosurgical Society, and the Greater Miami Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He is currently a Governor of the American College of Surgeons. He has published and lectured extensively and has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America as well as one of the Best Doctors in America - Southeast Region. He is involved in the teaching program at the University of Miami and is a Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Morrison is the only neurosurgeon to be certified by the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery in South Florida.

Dr. Raman is a professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Neonatology Department. Dr. Raman has won numerous awards and is a member of various organizations, including the Society for Pediatric Research, the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, the American College of Nutrition, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Southern Society for Pediatric Research, the Charter Member American Society for Magnesium Research, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Abelardo A. Retureta, MD
Clinical pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology, Miami Children's Hospital

Dr. Retureta received his medical degree from the University of Havana, School of Medicine in 1960. He completed a three-year Pediatric Residency program at the University Hospital, Havana, Cuba, in 1964. In 1968, Dr. Retureta moved to Miami, Florida, where he completed a one-year rotating internship at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach, Florida in 1970 and two years of Pediatric Residency in 1972 at Miami Children’s Hospital, then known as Variety Children’s Hospital. In 1978, Dr. Retureta completed a Fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Miami, School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami. Dr. Retureta’s academic career includes being a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Miami, School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was certified by the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates in 1969, the Florida State Board of Medical Examiners in 1972, the American Board of Pediatrics in 1975, the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners in 1976 and the American Board of Pediatrics, Sub-Board of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in  1984. Dr. Retureta has lectured locally and in Central America. He has also published many papers.

Daniel V. Schidlow, MD

Juan Silverio, MD
Dr. Silverio specializes in clinical pediatrics and nutrition at Miami Children's Hospital.

Dr. Silverio received his medical degree from Havana University School of Medicine in 1947. He did his Pediatric Residency at the University Hospital, Havana. Later, he moved to France, where he completed a fellowship at the Hôpital des Enfants Malades in Paris. His academic career brought him to Miami, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Prior to this, Dr. Silverio was an adjunct Associate Professor in Pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Silverio holds the titles of Fellow American Academy of Pediatrics, Fellow American College of Nutrition and Fellow Pasteur Institute (France). In 1992, he received the John Silverio Research Fellowship Award from the Association of Medical School Pediatric Chairmen. He is the current president of the Cuban Pediatric Society (in exile). He has published more than 100 papers in Cuban and U.S. medical journals. His greatest fulfillment is having cared for children in three countries using three languages - Cuba, France and the United States.
